Brilliantly crafted leather boots with a traditional design: the Karakorum HC GTX from La Sportiva. They are compatible with semi-automatic crampons and suitable for demanding treks and moderately difficult mountaineering trips.
The boots feature a GORE-TEX membrane which not only fends off water from the outside, but simultaneously allows moisture on the interior to escape, keeping your feet nice and dry.
The high-quality Vibram outsole comes equipped with an Impact Brake System and delivers superb grip along with plenty of cushioning and support on descents.
A multidirectional flex system at the ankle keeps the ankle both mobile and stable. It also maximises the contact surface of the shoe, making it easier to walk off-road.
Lastly, the boot has a protective rand to protect the leather from damage as well as a climbing zone at the front of the sole for short climbs and scrambles.
The classic look combined with all the innovative features makes the Karakorum HC GTX an excellent pair of mountaineering boots.
